Personality: Maa is awkward around people at first but when she gets talking, she doesn’t really know when to stop. Due to her limited contact with the world outside of her tribe, she is always ready to try new things and is pretty easy to talk her into those things. While her ultimate goal is to find her sister, she does want to experience the entire world and everything that it has to offer.

Notable Appearance Traits: Unlike most Xaela who possess more of a blueish tone on their scales, Maa has developed deep black color in her horns and scales. Also despite what some would call brutish strength, she has a very slim and slender frame.

Biography

Born into the Himaa tribe known for its over abundance of twins, Maa and her sister Kaa were brought into this world with the most uninteresting circumstances possible. Their parents were poor and relatively average in their tribe and the fact that they were twins was nothing out of the usual. However, as they grew, the twins began to show that they had two things that most of their tribe did not possess, black horns and scales and they were extremely skilled in the manipulation of their own aether. Being more of what the tribe called, the brutish type, Maa used her ability to increase her own martial prowess and her strength while the more bookish and magically inclined, Kaa focused more on

spellcasting and magecraft. By the time they were reaching maturity, they became among the strongest fighters in their tribe and one of its greatest assets, always fighting side by side. This, however, would eventually be the reason why the two would be separated forever.

As she grew more powerful, Maa grew more and more arrogant in her own strength. She would also become more and more aware of her sister and just how much the two were part of one single unit. They did everything together, they would be confused for one another by the people of their tribe, and they were both of relatively equal power in terms of their strength. Maa secretly made it her mission to separate herself from her sister and would force her tribe to see her as her own person.

One night when the twins had reached the age of 18, raiders attacked their village taking

the whole of the tribe unawares. Though initially caught off guard, the people of their tribe worked to push the men back, led by the twins, who carved a path of fear into the invaders. Maa in the front, Kaa backing her up, the two were seemingly unstoppable. Seeing this as a way to prove herself to her tribe, Maa separated from her sister and charged off on her own. By herself, however, she was quickly overrun, and surrounded. Alone and without options, she knocked silly and was doomed until her sister used her magic to teleport her away saving her but ultimately damning herself in the process. When Maa finally got her bearings and rushed

back to her sister, but found only her staff and strips of bloody tattered cloth.

Maa rightly blamed herself for her sister's sacrifice and asked the elders of her tribe to look for the raiders, but they did not want to risk any more death and declared Kaa to be lost or dead. Unable to accept this, Maa left her tribe to look for her sister, whom she believes to still be out there alive. Her travels brought her to civilization but penniless and unknown, she struggled on. With no knowledge of the outside world but a burning desire to learn more about it, not only to find her sister, but because the world interested her so much, she wanders around ever on her quest to find her twin sister.
